How do I match my own customer list against company data?

Turn a CRM export into companies you hold register, financial and structural data on.

What you need

Free account costs no Implicents

You need an account in the Implisense Platform. The free plan costs nothing and asks for no payment details — 100 Implicents to start, then 25 a month.

Path in the app: /en/lists/upload

Steps

  1. 1

    Drop the file in

Drag an .xlsx, .csv or .tsv file into the field, up to 10 MB. A typical CRM export with its warts is exactly right: missing legal forms, typos, rows without a city.

  2. 2

    Map the columns

Company name, city, postcode, website, register number and VAT ID are proposed from the header row; you confirm or correct. Columns holding contact-person names are deliberately left out.

  3. 3

    Run the match

Resolution runs on a scoring ladder: VAT ID and LEI weigh most, then the register triple, the domain, name plus city, and last a bare name match. When a name is ambiguous we actively subtract points instead of guessing.

  4. 4

    Review the hits

The result comes in three bands: confidently matched, uncertain, no match. Look at the uncertain ones — an honest „I do not know“ is worth more than the wrong company.

  5. 5

    Save as a list

Name the list and create it. From there it is ready for the list profile, news research and the similarity search.

What you see

The wizard runs in four steps: file · columns · match · create list.

What you can bringEffect on the match
VAT ID or LEIunambiguous, highest weight
Register number + register courtnear-unambiguous
Website domainvery reliable, even without a legal form in the name
Company name + citygood, and the most common case in CRM exports
Company name aloneweakest case, frequently ambiguous

The sentence this recipe rests on: the file never reaches our server. It is read in your browser; only the attributes to be resolved are transmitted. What is stored afterwards is only which company was matched — identifier, name, city and the quality of the match. Contact names and private contact details in unmapped columns never leave your machine.

How you know it worked

On a typical CRM export the match rate lands between 60 and 80 percent. What remains is usually not incorporated companies — sole traders, associations, foreign entities. A rate of 100 percent would be a warning sign, not a success.

The honest limit

The free plan processes 200 rows per upload, Plus 1,000. An oversized file is refused up front rather than silently truncated.

Picking a different candidate in the review table — “choose another company” on an uncertain row — requires the Plus plan. On the free plan you can see the three bands and take the confident matches, but you cannot redirect an individual uncertain row to a different company.

The upload itself costs no Implicents on either plan.
