What you see
The company search with one extra filter: hide the companies on a list. You pick one of your lists, and every company on it disappears from the results. The count drops by exactly those companies, and a note above the results says how many there were and from which list.
| Without exclusion | With exclusion |
|---|---|
| 180 machine builders in the region, 35 of them your customers | 145 machine builders you do not supply yet |
| Every page mixes known and new | Every page shows only new |
The exclusion belongs to the search. Save it and it also applies to the weekly check of saved searches: an existing customer is never reported there as new.
How you can tell it worked
Above the results it says how many companies from your list were hidden. If the note is missing although you have customers in the region, the search usually does not match the list: different industry, different place.
The honest limit
Only what is on the list is hidden. Rows of your customer file that found no match during the upload are not companies on the list and stay visible in search. Looking at the uncertain matches during the upload pays off here.
The free plan shows the first page of results, Plus pages further. On the free plan, narrow the search rather than hoping for page two.
Up to 10,000 companies of a list are taken into account. That covers almost any customer base; on larger lists the rest stays visible.
The exclusion costs no Implicents on either plan.
