The Challenge

The seed investor's active sourcing team previously had to search for and evaluate signals on the business development of several hundred start-ups from numerous sources in order to identify potential investment opportunities. These start-ups are spread across different markets and regions, making the manual collection and evaluation of the relevant information very time-consuming and error-prone.

The Solution

Together with the active sourcing team, the internal potential assessment and the underlying data were analyzed and converted into a final prompt using a test-driven approach. AI assistants were then set up to derive their own search strategies in order to independently discover relevant signals for the potential assessment of start-ups. These include signals such as: Website with indications of the business model, participation in accelerator programs, completion of a first financing round, signs of team expansion and the development of a minimum viable product (MVP). Using these and other signals, AI assistants can repeatedly evaluate each startup to suggest potential investors to the active sourcing team for closer scrutiny or CRM-integrated outreach.
